I haven’t sent one of these out in a while. I hope everyone had a Wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. I was glad to see the end of 2009, and I know this year is going to be better.

I hope everyone is surviving this cold spell. I am totally over it. So far this year every gig I had has been cancelled because of the cold. I have been hibernating, learning and writing new songs. It’s been very therapeutic, but now it’s time to get out and play. Thankfully all my gigs this week are indoors.

Tuesday, I’m hoping to get down to the Dog n Bone and jam with the Matt Sams Band.

Wednesday, I plan on sitting in with the Bone Dogs at Wynfields.

Thursday, I’m playing at Jumps Tiny Tavern at 201 Taft Ave in Cocoa Beach from 5-8. I’ve never played here before and have no idea what to expect.

Friday, I’ll be at Off The Traxx in Downtown Melbourne. This is one of my favorite spots and it can really get going.

Saturday, if it’s warmer than it was last weekend, I’ll be playing from 2-5 at the Sunset Café in Cocoa Beach on 520 on the river. A beautiful spot with lots of dolphins.

Saturday night, I will be at the Getaway Martini Bar off Wickham in Suntree from 9:30-1

Don’t forget the Pirate Party at the Pier, January 23

Pizza Bob is still very much in my thoughts. Thanks to Lou’s Blues and other generous people, his four sons were able to have a nice Christmas. Thanks to everyone who helped. If you have anything left after the holidays, the Neace family could use any donations you might be able to spare.

The funeral service for Pizza Bob was very moving and a lot of tears were shed. The get together at Murdocks raised some money for the family and everybody had a story to tell about Bob. There were some great performances, including one by his oldest son Van.

The Pizza Bob Memorial is scheduled for Sunday, Nov 22 at Milliken’s Reef in Port Canaveral from noon til midnight. Many bands have already volunteered but if you are interested you can contact Larry Fletcher via email lwf1124@aol.com or via phone 407-484-8092.

Local Businesses, if you have a product or service you can offer event organizers to raffle or auction please contact Larry as well. If you can’t make the benefit you can donate to Bob’s wife and their 4 boys

This week, I will be back at Long Dogger’s in Satellite Beach on Wednesday Nov 11, from 6:00-9:00. What a great place to bring the family and have dinner. They have the friendliest servers.

After that I’ll be heading up to Wynfields to sit in with the Bone Dogs again. They have been drawing a really nice crowd there for their open jam night.

Friday the 13th, I have a long night. First I start at Off the Traxx in downtown Melbourne from 6-9 pm. Then I pack up and head over to the Oassis in Melbourne Beach and play from 9:30 to 1:30.

Saturday, Nov 14, I’m heading over to the Deland Original Music Festival. They are having over 100 artists on 21 stages in one day. They take over the whole downtown area. I went last year and had a blast. I’m playing on the Dublin Stage at 8 pm.

Sunday, it’s the Stephen Miller Biker and Blues Bash at Millikens Reef, from noon til 8. They are raising money to buy musical instruments for schools in the area. It’s a really good cause. Last year I got to see the looks on the kids faces when they delivered all the instruments to them. It was pretty cool. I open the show at noon.

Have a great week and I hope to see you somewhere.

My friend, Pizza Bob, died suddenly on Wednesday. He will be sorely missed in this community and my heart goes out to his wife and their four young boys. Bob was the sole provider for his family who are now on their own. Donations can be sent to Cathleen Neace, 1100 Typhoon Dr. Merrit Island, 32953

Funeral arrangements have been made for Bob and they are as follows. There will be a viewing at the Brevard Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, Nov 1, from 6-8 PM. Their address is 5475 US 1 and they are about 5 miles North of 528 on US 1 near Frontenac. The funeral will be on Monday, Nov. 2 at the First Assembly Of God at 11 AM. Their address is 3757 N. US 1 and they are not quite 1 1/2 miles North of 528 on US 1.

There has been an outpouring of grief from the musical community. Bob touched many lives and helped many people including myself. He performed tirelessly, sometimes as many as 15 gigs in a week to provide for his family. He had the biggest voice and the biggest heart and unfortunately his heart could not keep up.

Please help with anything you can for his family.

After the show everybody packed into Lou’s and the jams kept going till early in the morning.

I have enough sound insulation from my old studio to do a 12 X 16 room with corner baffles, ceiling baffles and wall treatments. I no longer need it and I’m looking for a school that might be setting up a recording studio that I could donate it too. If anyone could help me, I would appreciate it.

Wednesday, September 2, I’ll be back at Long Dogger’s in Satellite Beach. What a great place to bring the kids and have some great food.

Friday, Sept 4, I’m at off the Traxx in Downtown Melbourne 6:00-9:00 PM

Saturday, from 1-5, I’ll be at the Hilton in Indialantic. Catch their ½ price lunch menu and the pool and hot tub are open for everybody.

After the Hilton, I’ll be at The Pizza Gallery in Viera from 8-11. I sure love their food. I had some of the best mussels I’ve ever had last time I was there.

Monday, Sept. 7, I’ll be back at the Hilton in Indialantic, for a Labor Day bash with all kinds of special deals. Bring the kids and head on over.

No word yet on my stolen guitars. The police say they have leads. But nothing has turned up yet. Thank you for all your emails and offers. I really appreciate it. I’m hoping to have my complete equipment list for Clarion Ins. by tomorrow and then I will be insured, a little late, but I’ll be able to sleep at night.

My website www.jonparrot.com has a brand new look thanks to Dave Munkhoff. This guy is so talented. I see people spending a whole lot more money for their websites and getting very little. On top of being a guitar virtuoso and a web guru, I’m getting ready to go back into his studio to record my next cd. He did my first one and I was very happy with it.

This week, I will be back at Long Dogger’s in Satellite Beach on Wednesday Aug 12, from 6:30-9:30. What a great place to bring the family and have dinner. They have the friendliest servers.

After that I’ll be heading up to Wynfields to sit in with the Bone Dogs again. They have been drawing a really nice crowd there for their open jam night.

Thursday, as of now I’m open and I hope to go to Nolan’s for their Writers Night. I haven’t been there in months cause I’ve been playing but I hope to make it this week.

Friday, from 9-12, I’m at the Getaway Martini Bar off Wickham in Suntree. The first time I was here this place rocked and I’m looking forward to going back.

Saturday, from 1-5 I’m at the Wet Spot in Palm Bay on US 1. This place is always a party.

Then I pack up and head over to the Pizza Gallery in Viera from 8-11. One of my favorite spots.

Sunday, August 16, I’m playing a set at Captain Katana’s at 3 PM for the Sam Gorman Memorial Benefit. We sure miss him as well as all the other musicians that have left us recently.

After that I head up to the Surf in Cocoa Beach, just down from Coconuts. I play from 5:30-8:30. They have some of the best food around. I love their oysters.

Monday night I’m doing an internet radio show with James Garris at the Sun Shoppe Café in Downtown Melbourne. I have not done any radio shows in a while so this will be fun. I’ll be playing some of my new songs I’m getting ready to record with Dave Munkhoff.

Have a great week and I hope to see you somewhere.
